Dull knives make cutting more difficult and make kitchen work unnecessarily laborious.

With the Toishi whetstone, kitchen knives can be regularly sharpened and finely polished. The double-sided grit combines a #1000 sharpening stone for resharpening with a #6000 side for fine polishing of the edge. Thanks to the included angle guide and non-slip bamboo holder, the set is suitable for both beginners and experienced users.

    Benefits

    • Effective resharpening: The #1000 grit is suitable for refreshing dull edges and helps maintain consistent sharpness.
    • Fine polishing results: The #6000 grit smooths and refines the edge after sharpening, enabling more precise cuts.
    • Stable and comfortable use: The non-slip bamboo holder provides a secure base, while the angle guide helps maintain a consistent sharpening angle.

    Specifications

    • Grit: #1000 (sharpening) / #6000 (fine polishing)
    • Type: Japanese water stone
    • Contents: Whetstone, bamboo holder, angle guide
    • Holder: Bamboo base with non-slip underside
    • Suitable for: Stainless steel, carbon steel, and Damascus steel knives

    Instructions

    1. Preparation: Soak the sharpening stone in water for 5–10 minutes until no more air bubbles rise.
    2. Sharpening: Use the #1000 side and move the knife over the stone with steady strokes while maintaining a consistent angle.
    3. Polishing: Then use the #6000 side to finely polish the edge with light pressure and complete the sharpening process.

Pro tip: Keep the sharpening stone slightly damp throughout use. A wet stone produces a more even sharpening pattern and helps ensure gentle treatment of the blade.
