How to play

1. Set up: Mark out the playing field, place the king in the center, set up 5 pawns per side, and place marking sticks in the corners.
2. Play: Teams take turns throwing sticks at the opponent’s pawns – knocked down pawns are placed on their own side and set up again.
3. Win: Once all opponent pawns are down, the king can be attacked – whoever hits him wins the round.

Pro tip: Rotating the throwing sticks lengthwise instead of throwing them flat hits the pawns more reliably – especially in some wind, a flat, stretched throw close to the ground is recommended.
